The history of the brand stretches back to the 19th century in Scotland in the small town of Hardwick where two business partners decided to create a specialist knitwear company for the game of golf. The company was immortalised into fashion history during the 1940's when they teamed up with Christian Dior to produce a range of Lyle and Scott knitwear.
