Belstaff Transitional/Lightweight Jackets

An Introduction to Belstaff

Belstaff, created by Harry Grosberg, first took to the market in 1924 and has become one of the best British Heritage brands ever since. The brand is recognised worldwide for their impeccable performing outerwear and renowned jackets. Originally starting in a factory located in Stoke-on-Trent, their main focus was to manufacture high quality outerwear. Through refined research into technology, Grosberg set out to design products that were waterproof, windproof, and resistant to heavy friction which resulted in Belstaff becoming the first brand to produce a fabric that was completely waterproof but breathable.

Specialising in clothing for motorcyclists, aviators and the army, protective garments were at the forefront which lead to a development in designs for gloves, goggles, boots and helmets. Hitting a popular mark in the 1940’s, the brand was producing more than 40,000 Black Prince motorcycle jackets a year.
