With Christmas officially all done and dusted, we are deep into the pits of the doom and gloom that comes with the month of January. Everything we love about winter (such as Christmas markets and partying) has finally ended, so it’s only fair that were allowed to start dreaming about summer, right?
Here at Accent Clothing we are already fawning over those Spring/Summer 2020 trends that will be soon heading our way and if like us, you’re over the cold weather and current winter trends then maybe it’s time to start planning our summer wardrobes! After all, being organised never hurt anybody…
Everybody has their go to styles, re-occurring trends that we fall back into the arms of year up on year, such as flowing floral dresses and gladiator style sandals. However, we can guarantee they won’t be alone this summer, also storming their way into wardrobes are trends such as short suits, sheer fabric, puffed sleeves and polka dots and we’re all here for it!
Is there anything better than spicing up your wardrobe? We sure don’t think so, give your summer wardrobe that risqué feel by adding sheer fabrics into the mix. Not only do sheer fabrics look sophisticated and chic, they allow you to experiment with layering over the top of other garments as well as creating different textures.
Tailored garments are back on the fashion scene and it hasn’t gone unnoticed, with the fashion conscious everywhere loving the sophisticated style of a blazer it doesn’t seem like this trend will be leaving the streets any time soon. So, we can’t say we’re surprised that fashionistas everywhere are eagerly anticipating the arrival of short suits in their summer wardrobes.
SS/2020 is about to get a whole lot sexier with this forecasted trend, centre stage this summer is the brassiere in all its glory and it’s got everyone’s attention; from revealing bandeaus to sequin bralettes and metallic accentuation, we’re sure we’ll be seeing a lot of this trend come summer.
We have all seen puffed sleeves start to creep back into our wardrobes, but for SS/2020 they are back and they’re more dramatic than ever. Puffed sleeves are the perfect go to if you want add a sense of class and sophistication to an outfit and we can’t get enough of them.
We should have guessed that trench coats would be once again on trend this Spring/Summer as the classic style is extremely popular; however, slightly different to the timeless design, the trench coat has had a revamp this season and has blessed with some feminine finishing touches.
Designers are standing their ground when it comes to the polka dot pattern and it doesn’t seem like it’ll be letting up anytime soon. The polka dot is simple yet sophisticated and livens up an outfit beautifully; we can’t wait to see more of this print on the streets come summer.
As much as we’re all devoted fans when it comes to neutral and muted tones, the summer streets are set be a whole lot brighter if the catwalks are anything to go by. Highlighter inspired neon colours are gaining a lot of attention for SS/2020.
Crocheting; no longer something you associate as your nans favourite pass time, Crocheting has had a glow up and we’re more than excited about it. Think pretty dresses, sophisticated suiting and handmade eveningwear, with many designers now doing their bit to become more sustainable this is a trend that will be welcomed with open arms.
