DSQUARED2 is the story of 2 brothers, Dean and Dan Carten. Born in Canada to Italian parents, the brothers started their journey at Parson’s School of Design, a world-renowned facility in New York. After honing their craft, Dean and Dan moved to Italy, launching their first DSQUARED2 collection in 1994.
The result was an exiting blend of Canadian iconography, refined Italian tailoring and playful sensuality, a seamless melding of casual and glamour, the relaxed and outrageous, masculine and feminine—true alternative luxury.
As a result, the brand’s profile grew rapidly, earning a commission from Madonna for her ‘Drowned World Tour’ and "Don't Tell Me" music video. And DSQUARED2’s place among the stars didn’t stop there, with Cristina Aguilera stripping male models at a runway show in 2005, and Rhianna crashing a runway in a muscle car in 2007.
The brand now has stores worldwide, living up to their globe-trotting motto, “Born in Canada, living in London, made in Italy”.
