"Keeping warm this winter may be the least of your worries as we edge closer to the holidays, but for Yorkshire’s many rough sleepers, it’s an all too harsh reality. To help tackle this problem, iconic Leeds store Accent Clothing have teamed up with luxury Canadian brand Nobis and Simon on the Streets for a coat drive charity event with a difference.

Accent are opening their Queen’s Arcade store on Wednesday 11th December 18:30-20:30 and asking guests to bring along their old winter coats in exchange for a stylish Nobis scarf (worth £200) on a first come, first served basis.

A charity raffle will offer attendees the chance to win a winter coat of their choice from the Nobis 2020 winter collection (worth £1,000), along with several other incredible prizes. Anyone that purchases a Nobis coat at the event will automatically receive a £50 discount and another £50 will be donated directly to the charity by Accent.

Cool soundtrack

PBR Streetgang DJ Tom Thorpe will provide a suitably cool soundtrack of Balearic beats, whilst the award-winning Slingsby Gin will be serving up complimentary cocktails and shots from an impressive ice luge sculpture. Barber B from Piranha Hair Studios will be working his magic instore to offer guys a complimentary haircut, with any tips received on the night going straight to charity.

Fashion and innovation

All winter coats, cash donations and raffle ticket proceeds will go directly to Simon on the Streets, who have been celebrating 20 years of helping local homeless communities in 2019. Their work across Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield has had an immensely positive impact on Yorkshire’s rough sleepers since they began back in 1999.

Nobis was set up a decade ago by world renowned outerwear genius Robin Yates and combines function with fashion and innovation, creating outdoor jackets and accessories that look as good on the streets as they do on the slopes.

Accent Director Martin Schneider said this ahead of the event:

’We’re thrilled to stock the Nobis range in Accent and what better way to launch the brands latest collections than with a charity collaboration with Simon on the Streets. By asking attendees at our event to raid their wardrobe for old winter coats to donate to charity, the aim is to keep some of the rough sleepers of Leeds and beyond a little warmer this winter.’’

In exchange, Nobis are offering beautiful scarves, beanie hats and the chance to win a winter coat of their choice valued at £1,000. So, dig deep in your wardrobes and pockets, feel the warmth of giving back and join us on the 11th December and let’s make a difference as we celebrate the festive party season with great music and a few drinks.
